But Ragnar’s journeys to raid in the West force the two apart, and her duties maintaining their farm while enduring a series of tragedies cause her to realize her leadership potential. After a string of insults, she eventually parts ways with Ragnar, taking with her their grown son. But she is destined to rule, and eventually, she earns a place of leadership over her people. But her destiny and Ragnar’s are intertwined.
